PLEASE DONATE TO HELP INDIAN LAKE REGION WITH DISASTER RELIEF!!!!
On Thursday, March 14th an F3 tornado swept through the Indian Lake region causing significant damage to both Lakeview and Russell’s Point communities causing 3 deaths, destroying homes and businesses and impacting thousands of individuals. Our sister company Winner’s Markets operates a location in Lakeview approximately two miles North of the main path; with the help of staff, amazing locals and friendly tradesmen, the Winner family was onsite early Friday morning to assess damage and put a plan together. They were able to get a 1500kw emergency generator from Sunbelt Rentals out of Plain City and Mechanicsburg local Tony Swank delivered it to Indian Lake, Kizer Electric sent up three highly trained electricians to get the building switched over; by 5pm they were back to operational and have proceeded acquiring resources to maintain operations throughout the cleanup process.
Winner’s Lakeview team quickly made calls to vendors and suppliers to guarantee that trucks continued heading into the area with food and beverage products, gasoline and hardware items were available. The tornado took out the other two grocery stores in the region leaving the Winner’s Market as the last grocery store in the region, the team showed up and was ready to serve.
Our amazing grocery partners at Associated Wholesale Grocers donated an entire semi trailer full of drinking water that showed up Friday, the team provided it free of charge to the community and we will continue allocating water to those in need while we work together to recover from the disaster.
MIXX165 team and customers have been asking relentlessly for opportunities to contribute to the clean up and disaster relief efforts. We were hesitant to direct folks anywhere as there were many organizations overwhelmed with volunteers and supplies, we wanted to assure that any resources sent were truly needed. Now that we’ve been on the ground communicating with organizations and volunteers we feel that the best way to contribute is financially at this point; many locations are turning away clothes, water and baby supplies, but they do need financial support to help folks with generators, gasoline, heating fuel and resources to continue funding cleanup efforts and hot meals for workers and displaced folks. Spirits are high, but this will be a marathon effort helping those in need and rebuilding a stronger Indian Lake. Please consider giving whatever you can to help our friends in Logan County!
